The NBCUniversal Evolution Plan is a massive undertaking to modernize L.A.’s storied theme park, Universal Studios, and Universal CityWalk. The new park will bring not only passionately anticipated new attractions, such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but with it, new jobs, millions of tourism dollars into the L.A. economy, and even improvements to parts of the city’s freeway infrastructure. But before it could see the light of day, it first had to get approved.
In partnership with MessageLA, BRIGHT led the strategy for NBCUniversalEvolution.com, the project’s online hub for official information, and a key resource in motivating constituent support for the project’s county and municipal approvals. The site drove engagement and advocacy from local neighbors, L.A. residents, industry professionals, local businesses, unions, and multiple other groups whose voices were essential to bring the project to life.
The result – on April 23, 2013, the L.A. City Council unanimously approved the NBCUniversal Evolution plan. Construction on the next evolution of “The Entertainment Capital of L.A.” has been set to begin late summer, 2013.
